In Reverie | Original Pastel Painting of a Tiger
 
In Reverie is an original pastel painting depicting a Tiger at rest, offering a softer perspective on one of the world's most captivating yet sadly Endangered species.
 
I wanted to show a moment where a predator simply becomes an individual, as with any other animal, including ourselves. They feel, they think, they rest, and they deserve the opportunity to simply exist.
 
The title, In Reverie, acknowledges the dreamlike state of an animal taking a moment to just be, rather than presenting the fierce expression we so often associate with tigers.

According to the IUCN Red List, only an estimated 2,608 to 3,905 Tigers remain in the wild. Through this painting, I hope to encourage people to see beyond the predator and recognise an intelligent, sentient species whose future depends on our continued respect, protection and conservation.
 
In Reverie was recently awarded Best 2D in Show by The Wildlife Art Society International (TWASI) and was also featured in the Southern Nature Art Exhibition at Rookesbury Park.
