Limited Edition Giclée Print – "The Guardian" (African Wild Dog)
Artwork by Sophie Parkhill | SP Wildlife Art
"The Guardian" is a powerful and emotional portrait of the African Wild Dog, also known as the Painted Dog. With its alert stance and steady gaze, this pastel painting captures the strength, loyalty, and protective nature of one of Africa’s most endangered and captivating animals.
This piece was created from one of my own reference photos, taken during a moment that really stayed with me. It has gone on to become one of my most recognised artworks—winning awards in Artist Network’s prestigious Pastel 100 competition and from The Pastel Guild of Europe, as well as being exhibited internationally in IAPS “The Globe” and the Southeastern Pastel Society’s “Luminocity” exhibition.
Printed as part of a limited edition, this giclée print is one of just 50 available—making it a unique and collectable piece. The print measures 16 x 12 inches and comes mounted in a 20 x 16 inch textured white, acid-free mount, ready to frame and display.
Printed on premium Hahnemühle Bamboo fine art paper (290gsm), every detail from the original pastel artwork is captured beautifully. The giclée printing process ensures rich, lasting colour, capable of having zero colour shift's for well over 100 years when properly cared for.
Each print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and is printed to ArtSure-certified standards.
